On the occasion of Mahashivaratri, Shiva temples across the country are witnessing huge crowds of devotees. From early morning, people have been visiting temples in large numbers for darshan. Temples have been beautifully decorated with flowers and lights, creating a special festive atmosphere. Rudrabhishekam, Maha Abhishekam, and continuous chanting of Shiva’s name are adding to the spiritual vibe in temples.
Mahashivaratri is considered one of the most sacred festivals for Shiva devotees. According to ancient beliefs, this day is associated with the divine Lingodbhava. It is also believed to be the day of the sacred union of Mahashivudu and Jaganmata Parvati Devi. That is why many devotees observe fasting and spend the entire night in jagaran, staying awake in devotion and prayer.
With heavy crowds at temples, special arrangements have been made for devotees, including separate queue lines, drinking water facilities, and prasadam distribution. As Mahashivaratri celebrations continue, temples are echoing with the chant “Om Namah Shivaya.” Devotees pray that Lord Shiva’s blessings bring peace, good health, and prosperity to everyone.
🙏 Har Har Mahadev!
